Concord Nail Clippers -- A Joy To Use

It is hard to get too excited about the mundane tasks each of us undertakes daily. Trimming one’s finger and toenails resides squarely in that camp of need-to-do items. However, Concord has created a product which makes that experience much more enjoyable: The Concord Nail Clippers.

Concord is best known for its variety of carefully designed, high-end men’s accessories including canes, umbrellas, and travel flasks alongside their grooming tools. As for the clippers, these are not your average, marginally constructed trimmers made of stamped metal. According to Concord, metal forged in Seki City, Japan -- where Samurai sword steel originated -- comprises the stout body and edge of these mini marvels. Rather than a bare-metal finish, Concord has opted for a black matte coating on the steel. Yes, the clippers do have a rather stealth quality about them. A grooming set comes with a pair of clippers – one sized for fingernails and one larger for toenails - complete with an attractive leather case keeping the two together.

Functionally, these clippers are extremely sharp and make short work of trimming my hooves. In contrast to the old-dulled set of trimmers I used for years, Concord clippers do not require much force to cut through nails. There’s a satisfying snap as each unwanted nail fragment drops away. These clippers are indeed a pleasure to use.

At a retail price around $50 for the pair, these trimmers do reflect the craftsmanship one would associate with the price tag. If you are one who regularly loses small items, these might not be for you unless you are willing to take a regular hit to the wallet. If cared for properly Concord suggests these clippers will last a lifetime. Based on my own experience so far, I believe them. If you need a new set of clippers, treat yourself to a set of Concord clippers. Likely, you will end up spending less on this marvelous collection than you will replacing cheap options over the course of the years to come.
